May and I returned to London triumphant, having played the Double Brahms at some fifty-nine concerts throughout Europe. I gave two recitals at the Bechstein Hall in London. One of these was with Hamilton Harty and the other with dâAlbert.
Hamilton Harty was a very dear friend of the family. He began his London career as an accompanist having studied in Ireland under the Italian composer Esposito. He accompanied May and Beatrice at many of their early recitals. A letter he wrote Beatrice on 17th February 1912 contains some interesting advice:
